  I think there is an attempt to be different in a soul killing atmosphere. When I was pioneering, I was always given shit about not having a 4 door car. So I bought a 1974 VW Thing convertable with 4 doors (the doors could come off too!) . I used to put old pioneer sisters in the back with the top down. HA! Never wore a bow tie, though.

  I don't believe in a God as layed out by JW's or any Christian religion. However, all it takes is a sincere intent and a willingness to see there is more going on. If you really astral project, there is no doubt in your mind that you literally are in another dimension. It's as real as regular 3d world. It will make you unafraid of death except that you may be afraid that emotional or psychological pain may continue on after death. I think athiesm is a good step in forgetting the way most of us were taught about God. Most athiests are angry which is a way of still staying connected with God as they knew him. Sort of like the kid in school who acted out to try and get the attention of the teachers. He was really looking for love. If you can get past that and are really curious, there are all sorts of goodies to explore. (Actually, I'm still a little angry)

  okay, july 1879 if you want to be picky.. current religious views: many apocalyptic leanings, prompting the origin of several major eclectic religious groups claiming that god had rejected the mainstream christian churches for their apostasy in the fourth century, and that he has now chosen a new prophet, a spokesman, a faithful messenger to re-educate the world as to the truths of the bible, long-lost and unattainable by any normal human being.

  to gain eternal life, man must listen to the new gospel of this messenger(s).. this century sees the birth of the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints (mormons), adventism and its various offshoots (including jehovah's witnesses), christian science, christadelphians and other smaller groups, each one claiming a modern-day prophet and new or once-forgotten revelations to the populace, many of whom we find shopping for new ideas, yet disenchanted with the churches.. scenario: a young man who can't understand theology from a historical development point of view begins to feel that he is the "seventh messenger" (rev.

  Good post. Here's how I see it in a nutshell. The evolution of a cult.

  1) Russell - Crazy Religious guy who, out of rebellion to mainstream Christianity, starts his own "bible study group". Has strange beliefs and mystical in nature. Gets growing group of followers.

  2) Rutherford - Takes out many mystical beliefs and makes everything more legal and "logical". The "bible study group" is now become like the other Religions that it rebelled against to begin with.

  3) Knorr - As a business man, he turns the whole thing into a profitable business and stabilizes it as a Religion. Structure is now solid and machinelike.

  4) Franz - With the machine whirrrring along, Franz brings an form of psuedo-intellectualism and arrogance that comes from the cult being at the peak of its power.

  5) Henschel to Present - The Cult is now playing defense with PR moves and trying to figure out what to do since Armageddon didn't come and the blood issue more complicated. More bureaucratic in nature and terrified of the internet. They may make compromises in the future to survive or else go down.

  THE MOST THRILLING MOMENT of your life.....?

  here is the most thrilling moment of my life.. i got to meet my film composer heroes john barry and miklos rosza at the beverly hills writer's guild theater for a seminar on filmmusic.. i was 30 years old at the time and going through my "you look like clint eastwood" stage.

  (i'm trying to explain my crazy hair!).

  i chatted with them and got them to sign my albums.. what was your most thrilling moment?.

  Does personal experience count or do I need to check with my new authority whoever that may be and see if it is valid. For instance, I was taught a meditation by a Qigong teacher I am studying with. Shortly afterward I experienced a series of out-of-body experiences. It was impactful enough not only to freak me out but to realize that I am not my body but I have a body. This became very evident and clear, not to mention repetitive. I could do the meditation and then I would pop out of my body. I mentioned it to my teacher and in his broken chinese told me it's no big deal and told me how to ground myself so I wouldn't "go travelling" anymore. I realized his reality is much different than mine and there are things in this universe I don't understand.

  What was strange to me was that I told nobody about it except my teacher and sort of had a shame around it like I didn't want anyone to find out. I realized it was because people are generally afraid of anything outside their box. I didn't want to be thought of as a weirdo. I think most people would rather be told what their reality is and not experience it directly. Just my opinion.
